Rebecca Martin has studied the harp for twenty-five years and has taught private harp lessons for over fifteen years. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Indiana University School of Music, where she studied harp performance under Susann McDonald and pedagogy under Elzbieta Szmyt. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa in 2006 and graduated magna cum laude in 2008. In 2010, she earned her Master of Studies in Music from the University of Oxford. Her solo performance career has taken her all over the United States and Europe, and she has played with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra, as well as with numerous chamber ensembles. She was the artist-in-residence at Vanderbilt Music from 2016-2017. Previous teachers include Julia Jamieson, Eleanor Fell, Frances Miller, and Laura Hearne. Rebecca is a passionate scholar of the history and development of the harp. In 2006, she won the Caswell Award for Musicology, and since then she has presented her research at academic conferences worldwide. Professional affiliations include the American Harp Society, American Musicological Society, and College Music Society. She and her husband have lived in Las Vegas since 2017.
