The Nevada School of the Arts Chamber Orchestra (NSACO) is entering its 11th season. We are looking back on our first decade of celebrations and experiences and looking forward to creating more memorable and meaningful performing opportunities for young musicians. NSACO’s repertoire spans multiple genres from Baroque to Contemporary and Popular music. The goal of the ensemble is to introduce students to advanced repertoire and challenge them to embrace a higher level of technical and artistic performance goals.

All rehearsals and most concerts are scheduled at the Historic Fifth Street School Auditorium but may change due to circumstances beyond our control. There will be several opportunities for the NSA Chamber Orchestra to work with special guest artists throughout the year. Every attempt will be made to schedule those clinics and workshops during normal rehearsal times but this may not always be possible. Chamber Orchestra members are expected to participate in all NSA Chamber Orchestra functions and rehearsals. Failure to do so could result in removal from the ensemble.
The NSA Chamber Orchestra provides musical engagement opportunities to inspire students to achieve the highest level of technical skills possible while developing the dispositions necessary to become not only successful musicians but successful members of contemporary society.
NSACO members will achieve their full potential as an individual, learning how to conquer challenges, develop time management skills, prepare music independently, and become an integral part of a small ensemble where everyone is invested in the excellence of music learning and performing at the highest level possible.
NSACO’s alumni continue to play music in colleges and conservatories as music majors and young professionals long after they leave our care. They have become giving and exemplary citizens, supporters and ambassadors of performing arts and generous Alumni, often returning to share their knowledge with our current young musicians.
