Tracey Corea is an accomplished director, choreographer, performing artist, and writer with decades of experience in the world of theater and live entertainment. Her career has taken her all over the world, working on productions in the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, S. Korea, Japan, China, Holland, South America, and the United States.
Tracey recently directed and choreographed the 2022 production of Elton John and Tim Rice’s AIDA for Disney Theatrical and producing partner Seensee Company, in Seoul S. Korea. She began her AIDA journey as the Associate Choreographer on the original Broadway production, where she was intimately involved in the shows creation, casting, choreography, staging and the creative maintenance of the Broadway production and 11 additional international companies of the show.
Other Broadway creative team credits include; Associate Choreographer for THE WHO’S TOMMY (including the West End, US First National Tour and six international companies) and Johnny Mercer’s DREAM. As creative consultant and director, Tracey created shows for the Venetian and Excalibur Casinos, Holland America Cruise Lines, Mercedes Benz, Toyota, Nike, and other large scale corporate events. Regional choreography credits include; LEGALLY BLONDE, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, and CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG. Most recently, Tracey directed EXIT, PURSUED BY A BEAR for A Public Fit Theatre Company.
Before directing and choreographing, Tracey was a performer who began her career at an early age. She graduated high school early to perform at DISNEYWORLD and then worked as both a rock singer and a professional dancer in LA, where she appeared in commercials, films, and live shows at Universal Studios, Disneyland, the Pantages Theater and the Hollywood Bowl. She played the iconic Hollywood rock clubs (Trubadour, Roxy, Viper Room, The Mint) with her original rock band BLUE, and toured internationally with THE PET SHOP BOYS. Her work eventually led her to Broadway, where she appeared in the original cast of THE WHO’S TOMMY and as an early replacement for the Broadway company of RENT, playing the roles of Maureen, Ms. Cohen and Alexi Darling. Tracey’s rock star dreams came true when she toured and recorded two albums with rock legend PETE TOWNSHEND, as featured vocalist and rhythm guitarist.
Tracey is the creator and writer of rock musical LIFE AFTER LIFE and the co-writer of EMPYREA, a scripted Parkour theatrical production, currently in development. Her teaching credits include the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, THE SMITH CENTER, ORANGE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, CAMP BROADWAY, DISNEY MUSICALS IN SCHOOLS and master classes throughout the US and abroad.Â
