One of the most versatile and charismatic violinists today, Brian Lewis is a world-renowned performer and educator dedicated to inspiring the next generation of musicians. Hailed for his passionate artistry and honest virtuosity, Lewis has captivated audiences across the globe, from Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New York to international stages in Germany, Denmark, Peru, Canada, and Mexico. He has performed with elite ensembles such as the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, American Symphony Orchestra, and Sinfonia Toronto.
As a committed educator, Lewis upholds the teaching legacies of Dorothy DeLay and Dr. Shin’ichi Suzuki, shaping the future of violin performance. He currently holds the David and Mary Winton Green Chair in String Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Texas at Austin and serves as the Artistic Director of the Brian Lewis Young Artist Program. His expertise has also led him to teaching positions at Yale University, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and international masterclasses.
Lewis’s influence extends beyond performance and education—his recordings include the world premiere of Elementswith the London Symphony Orchestra. Recognized for his contributions to music, he has received numerous accolades, including the American Suzuki Institute Suzuki Chair Award, Peter Mennin Prize, and the Texas Exes Teaching Award.
